JoDee Bryant
Board of Directors
Board
JoDee has lived in Faulkton most of her life. She attended Faulkton Grade School and graduated from Faulkton High School. In 1979, she married Jeff Bryant and they chose Faulkton as their home, where they raised their three children. She retired in December of 2017 after a 30-year career as a loan officer with USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA). Throughout her career with FSA, she worked with federal, state, and local USDA offices and serviced the farmers and ranchers of Faulk County along with those in Hand, Hyde, and Edmunds. She has always been interested in bringing more opportunities to the Faulk County area and created Women's Ag. Day in 2008, an event held in June of each year and educates area women on agricultural issues. It draws between 175 - 250 women each year. She has been active on the business side of Faulkton also. She began "Uniquely Yours" in Faulkton, a main street business, to bring many shopping opportunities under one roof. After 6 months, she entered into a partnership with Sharon Huss, and together they co-owned and co-operated "Uniquely Yours" for 14 years. In February of 2018, she began a new business in Faulkton called "Oil Up Buttercup," which is located along Highway 212 in Faulkton. This venture brings natural healthcare alternatives to the area.
JoDee became a member of the FAEDC because she has seen the work that the organization has been able to do over the past few years to keep Faulkton thriving and growing. She feels the community has much to be proud of and people throughout South Dakota (along with other states) are taking note of that. She wants to help continue to improve business opportunities in the community. Faulkton is a nice town to come to visit; a great community to raise families; a town where businesses can develop, expand, and grow to create jobs and opportunities. This is what will keep the Faulkton community thriving. She feels blessed to be a part of this community, which has offered her many opportunities in her life and for her family. Her philosophy is that being on the board is taking her turn to pay forward to future generations, and to share some of what she has learned along life's journey here in Faulkton.
